QR Code Generator

Turn any text or link into a QR code.

Generate a downloadable QR code from any text, URL or message, entirely in your browser.

How it works

Your text is encoded into a QR matrix with built-in error correction, which allows it to be scanned even if part of it is damaged. It's rendered right in your browser and can be downloaded as an image.

When it helps

Share a URL, Wi-Fi details, contact info or a message on posters, menus and business cards.

What you can put in a QR code

Most QR codes hold a web address, but any text works. Phones also recognize special formats: a line starting with 'mailto:' opens an email, 'tel:' starts a call, and a Wi-Fi string like WIFI:T:WPA;S:MyNetwork;P:password;; lets guests join your network by scanning.

The code generated here is static — the content is stored in the image itself. There's no tracking, no redirect through our server and no expiry date.

Tips for codes that scan reliably

Keep the content short: the more text, the denser the pattern and the harder it is to scan from a distance. Print the code at least 2–3 cm wide, keep dark modules on a light background with good contrast, and leave a clear white border around it.

Always test a printed code with a couple of different phones before sending posters or business cards to print. If you link to a page, make sure it works well on mobile.

Frequently asked questions

Do the QR codes expire?

No. The data is stored in the image itself, so it works as long as the content (like a link) stays valid.

How much text fits?

Up to a few thousand characters, but shorter content makes a simpler, easier-to-scan code.

Can I change the link later?

Not with a static code. If you need to change the destination later, link to a page you control and update that page instead.
